We have recently finished an electrical vehicle charging point installation for TWM Traffic Control System Ltd. TWM is part of the Pilot Group, a group of companies focused on cutting edge technologies. Pilot Group are continuing to support cities and businesses across the UK and Ireland in the race to become carbon neutral. On behalf of Pilot Group, we installed 10x Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCP) in Exchange Quay, Manchester. Exchange Quay is one of the most high-profile office projects in the North West, offering Grade A office spaces for rent in Salford Quays.
Our install included five PG EV Plus+ units, these are commercial floor mounted pedestal, dual-socket chargers. These offer ten charging bays with EVC solutions to their office tenants. EV drivers can pay for charging session with contact / contactless and swipe using a credit / debit card, as well as a e-wallet using the integrated payment terminal, making the user experience as fast and quick as possible with a tap and go.
The Plus+ units we installed feature a touchscreen and offers the client charging revenue, parking revenue and advertising revenue. The advertising and overstay charging features included in the Exchange Quay’s solution will result in a three-year payback on their Capex investment. As well as parking bay markings and signs, crash protection was also installed using stop wheels.
Key benefits of the Pilot Group EV Plus+ units are:
- Tap and go solution – EV drivers can pay for charging sessions with contactless payments or swipe their credit/debit card.
- Touchscreen offers advertising revenue opportunities.
- Overstay parking meter function.
- Installation included crash protection using stop wheels, parking bay marking and signage.
- Enhance CSR and encourage EV adoption.
